he Devil Inside is a 2012 American found footage supernatural horror film directed by William Brent Bell and written by Bell and Matthew Peterman. It follows a woman who becomes involved in a series of exorcisms during her quest to determine what happened to her mother, a woman who murdered three people as a result of being possessed by a demon. Although marketed as being based on true events, the story is entirely fictional. The film stars Fernanda Andrade, Simon Quarterman, and Evan Helmuth.
The Devil Inside was released in the United States on January 6, 2012, by Paramount Pictures. It was panned by critics and audiences alike; the film's ending received substantial controversy and been called one of the worst horror films of all time. Produced on a low budget of $1 million, it was a commercial success and grossed $101.8 million, topping the US box office on its opening weekend, before dropping drastically in the second week, shortly disappearing completely from the box office top ten.[3]
